Abstract

GUZMAN-BARRIOS, Rafael. La Muerte del Guerrillero: a musical-graphical analysis. Índex [online]. 2019, n.7, pp.58-66. ISSN 2477-9199.  https://doi.org/10.26807/cav.v0i07.175.

The purpose of this article is to analyze the sound speech through its conversion into graphic representations. The main parameters of music such as dramaturgy, time, intramusical space, intensity, orquestration, among others, will be converted into images. To achieve the objective was studied through a music-graphic analysis the work La muerte del guerrillero (1968-1969) written by the composer Harold Gramatges Leyte-Vidal (Santiago de Cuba, 1918 - Havana, 2008). This suggests a practical and effective methodological alternative for music research, since the resulting graphics will facilitate the way to better understand the multiple meanings of the music.

Keywords : sound graphics; Harold Gramatges; musicology; visual arts; musical analysis; synesthesia.
