Abstract

DEL PINO, Inés. Conversation with Celso Rojas. Índex [online]. 2018, n.6, pp.10-20. ISSN 2477-9199.  https://doi.org/10.26807/cav.v0i06.192.

This is an interview with Celso Rojas, he is an architect and artist whose passion is drawing. The interview is the opportunity to learn from the author the meanings behind the drawing, characterized by dark colors, done in charcoal, gouache or ink. Sometimes he combines these techniques. The drawing suggests images of imaginary beings, angels, demons, or non-readable text. For Celso Rojas, his drawings show the dark side of the society, otherness, life and death as the two sides of a whole. Drawings has not a date. It explains that his work is perceived as “timeless” draws.

Keywords : Celso Rojas; drawing; life; death; timeless; Quito; Ecuadorian artist; society.
