Abstract

FLORES, Pilar. WEAVING: Unity in Diversity. Índex [online]. 2018, n.5, pp.136-143. ISSN 2477-9199.  https://doi.org/10.26807/cav.v0i04.100.

The core idea of this artistic work is to create community through embroidery, encourage communities whose members cultivate attention and self-observation and move towards a peaceful coexistence in the recognition of themselves and the other. The project TEJIDO is a result of research from several sources, both from the East and the West. The power of different thoughts and ancient practices nurture this work. It is itself a weaving and a crossroads of different ways of seeing the world, presenting us a simultaneity of geographies and times.

Keywords : communities; embroidery; attention; peaceful coexistence; weaving; unity; complementarity; myth; symbol.
