Abstract

RODRIGUEZ-BENCOMO, Albeley. The "vibrating body" of Giuseppe Campuzano as a place for an artistic and untamed methodology. Índex [online]. 2018, n.5, pp.76-85. ISSN 2477-9199.  https://doi.org/10.26807/cav.v0i04.133.

This article aims to explore the Transvestite Museum of Peru (MTP) project, by the artist Giuseppe Campuzano, with the aim of assessing its contributions in relation to the methodological possibilities of artistic research. In it I will highlight specific components of Campuzano's work, which open some ways to understand the whole and uniqueness of its tools and procedures.

For this text I have placed in relevance the debate about the production of knowledge made from the body, the importance of the narration of suffering and the violence exerted on the feminized / racialized bodies, and its link with the perception of them as a threat of what I have called "feminization of the world". In this reading of Campuzano's statements, I will underline the capacity of the MTP to destabilize states of indifference in the face of denial of transvestite existences.

Keywords : methodology; artistic research; Peruvian Transvestite Museum; history; ex-Gender Disobediences.
