Abstract

LUSARDI., Giada. Thinking of memory of Ecuadorian Architecture, Design, and Arts: the case LIPADA - PUCE. Índex [online]. 2017, n.3, pp.114-124. ISSN 2477-9199.

LIPADA is a laboratory/archive, which aims the dialogue, study, and dissemination of materials that contribute to the consolidation of memory of Ecuadorian Architecture, Design, and Arts of the twentieth century. It is created through private archives that have been donated to the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador specifically for this project.

This article addresses the nature of LIPADA in relationship to its definition as both laboratory and archive, and the modalities in which it is inscribed on the current debate about archives considering a series of aspects characterizing research within Architecture, Design, and Arts. Finally, some examples that have been referential to reflect upon documentation of the project, cataloguing procedures, digitalization, and the relationship between archive and university, will be revised.
