Abstract

RODRIGUEZ., Albeley. Art according to Diego Barboza: Feast, irruption of the daily through nostalgia. Índex [online]. 2017, n.3, pp.106-113. ISSN 2477-9199.

The following text proposes to outline some of the most outstanding aspects of the artistic activity deployed by the Venezuelan Diego Barboza. This artist had, and continues to have, relevance at an international level, due to the uniqueness of his proposals within the framework of Latin American conceptualisms. When artistic languages were inclined to the sophistication of the global mainstream, Barboza chose to emphasize the values and forms of the popular festival of Venezuelan traditions, in a translation that integrated it to new strategies of production of meanings, with influence in the reflexivity in Social forms of being more connected with the life in common, the joy and the collective incidence in the political thing.

Keywords : Experience; Event; Performance; Popular Party; Latin American conceptual art.
