Abstract

(C)., Albeiro Arias, Ph.D.. Apolinére enameled (from) Álvaro Barrios, 1979-1980: appropriation as cultural hybridization. Índex [online]. 2017, n.3, pp.98-105. ISSN 2477-9199.

Based on the arguments of Néstor García Canclini in Hybrid Cultures (1990) and "Recent News on Hybridization" (2000), and Juan Martín Prada in his postmodern appropriation (2001), this article deals with the work Apolinére enameled (from) Álvaro Barrios (1979-1980), by Colombian artist Álvaro Barrios Vásquez (Cartagena de Indias, October 27, 1945), version of the ready-made assisted Apolinére enameled that was realized by Marcel Duchamp between 1917 and 1918. It tries to distensionar certain binaries As popular / cult and local / global, from processes of mutual assimilation, interrelation and pollution and cultural hybridization, to break and relativize concepts such as historical linearity, autochthonous, pure, authentic, identity, and Of course, the original.

Keywords : Álvaro Barrios; Apolinére enameled (from) Álvaro Barrios (1979-1980); appropriation; Cultural hybridization.
