Abstract

The process of the Baroque Ethos, raised by Bolivar Echeverría pen as a survival tool before the model of modernity imposed by Europe is analyzed, a way of mediating between conquerors and conquered, where the church established its own spaces and generated for several centuries an expression Cultural, in Ecuador manifested by Baroque art in all fields, this heritage, once again in force in the twentieth century, when the influence of the Mexican Muralist Movement, from these slopes, plus Latin American indigenism, will arise Social Realism Ecuadorian, Becoming the most important movement in our country. From here we will take a transcendental painting: the guandos of Eduardo Kingman, to be analyzed in its plastic expression and explaining part of its connotative plus through the Baroque Ethos.
