This essay constitutes an approach to the thought of the Russian filmmaker Andrei Tarkovski. In this sense, first are approached the roots of this thought within the hesychast Slavic literary and philosophical-religious tradition. Second, is performed an analysis of his philosophical-religious and aesthetic conceptions, his thought from the theological, ontological and anthropological point of view, as well as his definitions of art and cinema.
