This text talks about "Cuarto Aparte: Autonomous Platform of Art and Culture" activated since 2009 as a collective and collaborative proposal, an alternative event to the International Biennial of Cuenca, Ecuador. This platform has been, from that year to date, articulating and articulating individualities and collectives of the multiple local and national scenes, we seek to make visible, reflect and debate on works, projects and agendas beyond events and institutional scenes, within a cultural, artistic, Political and social of which both autonomous, collective, codependent and institutions we are part and we affect and we relate of different and diverse ways. From the place of general coordinator of the platform I make a chronological review of the same, including its development of contents through Stripes as well as its principles and policies. I also reflect on the notion of autonomy and processes of self-evocation, self-management and self-sustainability in art and culture, with a focus on the national context.
