Abstract

CARRILLO, Jorge Xavier. Economy and arts: some critical notes about their relationships. Índex [online]. 2016, n.2, pp.112-120. ISSN 2477-9199.

Arts and economics are fields that gradually intersect theoretically. However, economic theories focus on administrative contributions for arts, i.e. artistic management and, more generally, guidance on cultural policy. The arts, meanwhile, face the economic theories from a notion: art market. Beyond these differences, mutual contributions should aim to locate historical, geographical and epistemologically to understand the relationships that intertwine the arts, works of art, artists, financial globalization and aesthetic produced from our Third World.

Keywords : economics of art; art market; financial globalization; economic theories.
