This essay has the proposition to investigate as its objective the work of Raimund Abraham entitled “Hinge-Chair” 1970/71. The intention to study said work has a double aspiration, the first is to render a personal and posthumous homage to whom in life was my professor of dissertation. The second proposal is to uncover the motives both conscious and unconscious of the work from different points of view such as philosophical deconstruction and Jungian psychoanalysis. The present essay offers an assessment of a work of art pertaining to the neo- avant-garde from the decades of the 60´s and 70´s and to establish its debt with the historical avant-garde of the 20th century.
