Internationalization of lodging and food service trading companies in Colombia: determinants for commercial success. Revista Economía y Política [online]. 2021, n.34, pp.56-72. Epub 05-2021. ISSN 2477-9075.
The internationalization of services has become a relevant link in the value chain of international trade, and that is why this article identifies the determinants that enhance the internationalization of accommodation and food services in the city of Bogotá Colombia. The primary information was obtained from hotels, restaurants and travel agencies attached to the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce. We correlated determinants for the internationalization of services through the asymptotic significance of Pearson's Chi-square, the analysis of simple correspondences and symmetric normalization with the size of the companies studied, their time in the market and the share of their portfolio in the international market. Among the main results, the legislation on migration and personnel movements, investment promotion policies, the country's image / brand, cultural affinity and access to credit are the main determinants for the internationalization of accommodation and services of food in the geographical setting studied.
