Abstract

PALOMARES ALARCON, Sheila. Iron architecture and eclecticism: the original project of the “San Bernardo” Station in Seville-Spain. Estoa [online]. 2017, vol.6, n.10, pp.108-121. ISSN 1390-9274.  https://doi.org/10.18537/est.v006.n010.07.

Sevilla San Bernardo Railway Station design is not adjusted to a single project. There are different drawings signed by several engineers between 1886 and 1902. In addition, these was not drafted a final project that pick up the final result of the building after all modifications performed. After studying the station historical files which are kept in the Railway Historical Archive, this article aims to clarity some points due to the fact several issues were not drawn after the construction of the station. In addition, a hypothesis about the foundations is proposed because they were modified during the work and no document contemplated them.
