LUIS JAVIER, Ulloa Meneses; FAUSTO ERNESTO, Orozco Iguasnia; JAIME BENJAMIN., Orozco Iguasnia  and  FRANKZ ALBERTO, Carrera Calderón. Geographic information system for the integration of geo-referenced information from public and private entities in the city of Santo Domingo. RCTU [online]. 2017, vol.4, n.3, pp.13-27. The study of the Geographic Information Systems has been developed for long time, but its acceptance is better in almost all fields nowadays, once the geographic information systems are developed commercial or paying tools are chosen, However, there are free tools in the middle that allow us to perform the same GIS applications at no cost. For this reason, a geographic information system has been developed that allows the creation, dissemination and analysis of geo-referenced information provided and developed by the entities public and private of Santo Domingo. This GIS has been developed using free software tools, which will integrate a web portal, a geo-referenced map viewer and a metadata catalog. The project consists of a framework called IDE in which its tools allow the operation and generation of geo-referenced information. This information, which is compiled by the geographic information system, constitutes a valuable contribution for the entities that participate and provide this type of necessary information.
