Abstract

ABRIL, Marco; LEMA, Evelyn  and  ORTIZ, Hugo. Automation of an industrial process for winding plastic strap using electric motors controlled by motion algorithms. Maskay [online]. 2016, vol.6, n.1, pp.1-7. ISSN 1390-6712.

This article describes the design and implementation of an Electric and Electronic System to automate a process for winding polypropylene plastic strap in the factory CODIEMPAQUES of ECUADOR CIA. LTDA. The automatic process uses induction motors and stepper motors to allow winding and positioning the plastic strap on a spool for storage and distribution. The winding process that produces an uniform compact plastic strap roll is compounded of two stages. The first stage uses a three-phase induction motor controlled by strength algorithms. The second stage uses a stepping motor controlled by three algorithms of position, speed and change-rotation. The algorithms are processed by high performance controllers that receives the signals from some sensors. Then, the signals are transferred by MODBUS NETWORK CONTROLLERS in order to be processed. Finally, the implementation is developed under the ISO / IEC 24702 standard guides for distribution, switching and connection of devices, this standard guide optimizes time and resources.
