Abstract

This work aims is study the processes of alternative training with an emphasis on sustainable production, which were carried out in rural communities indigenous and afrodescendants in Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru during the period 2005-2015. The sample is composed of 250 producers, and 15 monitors, who participated in Agricultural Schools and Family Center for Alternation Training. The qualitative method is applied based on the ethnography and the analysis of data obtained in participatory workshops and communicative observation. As results, it is defined the evolution of the state of agroecological development in the intervention areas. It is concluded that the horizontal dialogue and experiential activities are the most efficient practices for working with the rural population. While the factors age of the participants, access to productive resources, and the cost benefit of an agroecological technique, are relevant to progress towards sustainable production transformation.
