Abstract

MONTERO-MONCADA, Luis-Alexander; DIAZ, Jesús-María  and  MEJI, Jorge-Luis. War games for Special Forces. Analysis of the Colombian case. URVIO [online]. 2023, n.37, pp.118-136. ISSN 1390-4299.  https://doi.org/doi.org/10.17141/urvio.37.2023.5794.

The purpose of this article is to evaluate the conditions of virtual training in war games or simulation exercises that Special Forces officers who make up the General Staff course of the Colombian War College have. The proposed methodology is based on the case study within the framework of education based on experimentation and simulation of crisis in virtual environments. The conclusions focus on the need to reassess existing simulation exercises -which are scarce- to strengthen the skills of a Special Forces officer or to create new and specific exercises in the Special Operations environment.
