Resumen

LABARCA, Claudia  y  MONTT-STRABUCCHI, María. China's representations among Chilean graduate business students (2018-2022). URVIO [online]. 2023, n.36, pp.26-44. ISSN 1390-4299.  https://doi.org/10.17141/urvio.36.2023.5931.

This article explores the ways in which China is perceived in Chile through an analysis of representations about that country in a case study: 71 graduate business students, between 2018 and 2022. Based on an adaptation of the DAST methodology, participants were asked to draw China, without further instructions, which allowed identifying the main representations of China of the top-ranked business graduate students. The results show that China is represented in ways that remain anchored in traditional historical representations. Despite the growing and broader economic exchange between the two countries, essentialist ideas of China as another and as a market prevail.

Palabras clave : bilateral relations; Chile; China; DAST; representations.
