GOMEZ-GIRALDO, Simón; GONZALEZ-JIMENEZ, David y ALVAREZ, Hernán. Phenomenological Based Model of Ethanol Reforming Using Steam. Rev Politéc. (Quito) [online]. 2022, vol.49, n.1, pp.31-42. ISSN 2477-8990. https://doi.org/10.33333/rp.vol49n1.03.
This document proposes a phenomenological based semi-physical model (PBSM) for ethanol reforming process in a three-stage (ethanol dehydrogenation, acetaldehyde reforming and water-gas-shift) low-temperature monolithic micro-reactor. The integrated model consists of 16 differential equations for each partition, representing the time and space dynamics of each species molar fractions and gas phase temperature on the three stages of the process. This model is fitted to represent correctly the kinetic and transport phenomena inherent to the process and the species involved as well as the effects of temperature change on process variables. The model simulations allow to verify the model validity regarding experimental data obtained from the literature.
