Abstract

CARLOS, Vargas; JESUS, Guamán; KATHERINE, Rodríguez  and  ALBERTO, Ríos. Photovoltaic Lighting System in Public Lighting Managed through a Cloud/GIS Platform. Rev Politéc. (Quito) [online]. 2017, vol.39, n.1, pp.59-66. ISSN 2477-8990.

The proposed article describes the features of the design and implementation of a Cloud Computing platform, integrated into a geographic referencing system, GIS. The Cloud platform will allow the acquisition, storage and display of information obtained from photovoltaic street lighting systems. The platform also performs control the brightness of the LED lamps, integrated photovoltaic lighting systems, depending on weather conditions and the presence of people and vehicles on public roads. In the study, a comparative analysis of the various existing techniques and experiences in the management and operation of different systems of remote management of public lighting, implemented in industrialized countries is presented. Also, described in detail the features of the innovative techniques control lighting systems. Finally, they describe the economic and environmental benefits associated with the implementation of a management platform, operation and control.

Keywords : Cloud Computing; photovoltaic lighting; street lighting.
