MANUEL, Espinel, e DIEGO, Carrión,. Transmission Expansion Planning Based on Maximum Lines Loadability and Optimal Transmission Switching. Rev Politéc. (Quito) [online]. 2023, vol.51, n.1, pp.45-56. ISSN 2477-8990. https://doi.org/10.33333/rp.vol51n1.04.
In the present research, a methodology is proposed to solve the transmission expansion planning (TEP) of an electric power system (EPS) in the short and long term, applying switching in the transmission lines, contingencies N-1 and considering the ranges maximum capacity of transmission lines, which will be based on an ideal SIL. The proposed model is based on the application of optimal power flows DC (OPF-DC), which will allow reducing operating costs and defining investment costs without affecting the system stability. The investigation does not consider load shedding schedules, the methodology will be applied to the IEEE 118 bus-bar system, which will be analyzed by varying the maximum number of transmission lines that can be switched, obtaining as a result of the application of the TEP the equipment that must be installed in the SEP, to avoid stability problems. The planning period is defined for 2 and 10 years with an increase in demand. In addition, comparative tables of power flows, voltage angles, and power dispatch, in current operating conditions with respect to the planned scenarios will be shown.
