Resumen

ARIAS, F.R.  y  FREIRE, A.S.. Study of Energy Performance Indicators (EnPI) of a Basic Hospital in Ecuador. Revista Técnica energía [online]. 2023, vol.20, n.1, pp.33-42. ISSN 2602-8492.  https://doi.org/10.37116/revistaenergia.v20.n1.2023.580.

The following document presents a systematic process of energy use through an analysis of energy indicators in a health building, where the importance of regular energy consumption profile requirements to establish specific performance indicators in a hospital is affirmed. A basic hospital located in the province of Cotopaxi (Ecuador), with 15 beds, is analyzed, an energy balance is made where electricity is determined as the largest energy carrier with 46,84 %, the electricity tariff is evaluated during the period of the year (2022), managing to identify an annual consumption of 124 030 kWh, also identifies the distributed percentage of electricity in this hospital, with the highest consumption of electric motors with 38%, and lighting with 22 %, based on the analysis carried out, a capacitor bank was implemented to help improve the power factor from 0,87 to 0,95 through simulation with the ETAP software and the replacement of fluorescent lamps with LED technology, optimizing the level of luminosity within the permitted levels through the use of the DIALux software. 69 kWh/year and carbon dioxide emissions of 1 688,43 kg/CO2/year.
