The article aimed to analyze the educational policies developed in the context of Mercado Común del Sur (Mercosur), especially what refers to the guidelines on the social function of the school, in the face of the processes of integration and democratization in the countries that make up the Block. Theoretically, this text is based on an analysis of the Action Plans of the Educational Sector, from 2005 to 2015, which, within the limits imposed here, are sources and objects of research. Methodologically, the guidelines of a case study are followed, specifically on the issue of Education in Mercosur, using texts published in the last 5 years. As a result, it stands out that the Action Plans are configured as inducers of management methods, insistently placed as a reference for democratization and economic globalization, considered as the solution for education. As conclusions, although under construction, it is evident that the actions of the Block, as part of the regulation of education and work in public schools, consistent with managerial formulations, strongly dominated by the economic sphere, become tools for the discussion of equity and the development of citizenship, but also of competitiveness and the training of human resources, suitable for such educational endeavors.
