Resumen

HURTADO TORRES, Luz Marina. A PEASANT CULTURAL HERITAGE THAT DISAPPEARS: ANALYSIS OF THE RISKS AND THREATS OF THE JOB AND USE OF THE CEDAZO, TOTA (BOYACÁ). Revista San Gregorio [online]. 2018, vol.1, n.21, pp.56-64. ISSN 2528-7907.

In the present article it is shown, from an ethnographic work made in a peasant community of artisans in the rural settlement Toquechá, locality of Tota (Colombia), the valuation that they grant to the sieve’s job, a utensil used to sift flour, and it is carried out an analysis of the risks and threats that cause the imminent disappearance of this living intangible cultural heritage. It is observed that these risks come from the vulnerability presented by the community and the territory. In the case of the community, it shows the weak socioeconomic conditions, which have led to the rupture of the social fabric, causing the loss of the transmission of the knowledge of the sieve’s job. As for the territory, the transformations in the use of the land and the abandonment of the grain crops to produce flours are observed, which causes the loss of food security, a reason for not using the sieve. Aspects to consider in the field of Intangible Cultural Heritage, it is necessary to pay attention to the communities, to their living conditions and the problems of their territories.
