Resumen

LOOR, Walter David Cobeña; ZAMBRANO, Silvia Gabriela Corrales; MACIAS, Eugenia Lyli Moreira  y  ZAMBRANO, Stephany Aracely Chiriboga. SOUND INTENSITY PRODUCED BY THE NOISES GENERATED IN THE URBINA AVENUE SECTOR. PORTOVIEJO, MANABÍ, ECUADOR. Revista San Gregorio [online]. 2017, vol.1, n.19, pp.114-123. ISSN 2528-7907.

Acoustic pollution has not been an important factor in the planning of cities, has caused that it is not taken into consideration in the development of development plans. So the struggle against noise becomes clear; the population is exposed to noise levels above the equivalent sound pressure level, where there is no idea of the damage it causes, so the objective is to measure the sound intensity produced by the noises generated in the sector of Urbina Avenue comprised between Alajuela Avenue and Eloy Alfaro Street in the city of Portoviejo of the province of Manabí in the month of December 2016 by determining the acoustic levels reached in the study area to demonstrate compliance with the regulations of the municipal ordinance which provides noise pollution. The method of exploratory scientific research and scientific observation was used, where it was possible to detect the direct sound sources, which corresponds to a study or field analysis. The results obtained from the different measurements of noise levels show that the average acoustic level in the hours of 12H00-14H00 is 81.52 dBA are the highest. Conclusion, the community of Portoviejo has no knowledge of the effects of being in constant exposure to high sound decibels according to what the WHO establishes on the permissible levels that the human being can support.

Palabras clave : Sound intensity; acoustic levels; noise pollution; sound sources; noise.
