PEREZ, Johanna Villegas. The violence against women in Ecuador after six years of the SDGs. Iuris Dictio [online]. 2021, n.27, pp.85-97. ISSN 2528-7834.
The eradication of violence against women and their empowerment are priorities for the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals. After six years of this global commitment, Ecuador has an outstanding debt with women and girls. At the international level, the Ecuadorian State has highlighted legal advances in gender issues. However, recent data show that women suffer various types of violence daily, which places them at permanent risk in public and private spaces. This article seeks to analyze the situation of violence against women in Ecuador six years after the SDGs. To do so, the article proposes a methodology based on the analysis of statistics and information from Ecuadorian civil society under the human rights standards and the gender category.
