GUTIERREZ HINESTROZA, Marllelis; ITURRALDE KURE, Sadi  y  SILVA, Marianela. Numerical simulation model for an array of five inverted wells in a sub-saturated reservoir. RCTU [online]. 2019, vol.6, n.1, pp.1-8. ISSN 1390-7697.  https://doi.org/10.26423/rctu.v6i1.452.

The objective of the study was to generate a numerical simulation model for an array of five inverted wells of a sub-saturated reservoir with rock and fluid expansion as its main energy in primary production of Lake Maracaibo in order to increase the recovery factor. The research is framed in a mixed (qualitative-quantitative) approach beginning with a description of the fundamental parameters for research such as the regional geology of the area, lithology, arrangement of five inverted wells, operational conditions such as, the rate of production and pressures background, relative permeability curves, PVT analysis, rock-fluid properties The population consists of 25 wells drilled in the LL-C4 field, of which 8 are injection wells and 17 wells are producers, to perform the numerical simulation, a areal delimitation of the LL-C4 field. The research consists of two variables that are the recovery factor and the numerical simulation model, which are developed by the IMEX software of CMG (computer modeling group). For the construction of the seismic mesh we proceeded to the selection of the type of numerical simulation grid for this study is a Cartesian mesh, established the static model we proceeded to build the primary production model where sensitivities were made taking into account two variables that are the production rate and background pressures. Among the most relevant results is that at the reservoir level, the implementation of water injection in the secondary recovery of the LL-C4 field, the recovery factor increased considerably maintaining the optimal operational conditions.
