ALMUINAS RIVERO, José Luis y GALARZA LOPEZ, Judith. University accreditation and institutional evaluation: a comparative study from the Network of Strategic Management in Higher Education. Revista San Gregorio [online]. 2021, vol.1, n.45, pp.130-145. ISSN 2528-7907. https://doi.org/10.36097/rsan.v0i45.1717.
Accreditation and institutional evaluation are part of the strategies for the development of quality in higher education. There are many institutional experiences, which highlight progress and shortcomings, with possibilities for improvement. The objective of this article is to base the use of comparative studies and cooperative work in a network, as an alternative to improve the practice of these processes. For this, a research project has been formulated in which university institutions participate, which are part of the Strategic Management Network in Higher Education. In its design, a mixed approach methodology was used, supported by various theoretical, empirical and statistical methods. As conclusions, it is proposed that comparative studies in the fields of accreditation and institutional evaluation are rare in Latin American higher education, but it is a very productive academic space with dimensions to be exploited and developed, and therefore, it should have a greater presence in the university research agenda. Specifically, networking allows starting from a more interactive vision, where multiple institutional actors contribute to structuring the analysis and possible solutions derived from a source of information that is valuable for decision-making.
