Abstract

BONILLA, G. A.; BARAHONA, E. G.; PROANO, X. A.  and  GUAMAN, W. P.. Evaluation of the Operation of the Differential Protection 87 in Single-Phase Transformers in the Presence of Faults, Through a Didactic Prototype. Revista Técnica energía [online]. 2023, vol.19, n.2, pp.99-109. ISSN 2602-8492.

In the present work, the construction of a didactic prototype was carried out that allows evaluating the operation of the differential protection 87, through the parameterization of variables, for which several parameters are considered, such as the minimum operating current, the starting current or the pending operation, which together with the measured data, such as the primary and secondary current, which make it possible to determine the value corresponding to the differential current, allowing emulation of the differential protection function 87 and its percentage variant. To achieve the above, Arduino current sensors were used, which together with the Nano microprocessor, of the same brand, will allow data collection, which after processing, will be communicated to LabVIEW where a constant is used, which allows scaling the values obtained in order to develop the programming logic that allows the entry of parameters, selection of CT's, calculation of the differential and minimum operating current, as well as the identification of the operating zones.
