Abstract

CALLE, J.H.  and  GUAMAN, W.P.. Statistical Analysis of Overvoltages due to Energizing Switching in Extra High Voltage Transmission Lines. Revista Técnica energía [online]. 2023, vol.19, n.2, pp.10-21. ISSN 2602-8492.  https://doi.org/10.37116/revistaenergia.v19.n2.2023.554.

In this paper, the Gaussian and modified Weibull distributions are applied to obtain the representative overvoltages of energizing switching operations in Extra High Voltage lines, and the results obtained in the representative phase-to-ground and phase-to-phase overvoltages for three energizing scenarios are compared. In addition, the methodology to perform a statistical study of overvoltages in the ATPDraw software is presented, using the Ecuador-Peru 500 kV interconnection as a case study. The results show that both distributions are applicable for statistical analysis of overvoltages if voltage magnitudes with equal probability of appearing in the system are considered.
