TORRES, Eleuterio Horna; PERALTA TAPIA, Manuela Esperanza; TORRES, Enrique Horna  and  HEREDIA LLATAS, Flor Delicia. Relationship between public management and sustainable development, literature review. Podium [online]. 2023, n.44, pp.81-102. ISSN 2588-0969.  https://doi.org/10.31095/podium.2023.44.6.

The relationship between public management and sustainable development has been studied in depth through a global literature review. This exploratory analysis examined 50 professional journal articles between 2019 and 2021, selected by strict criteria on citizen engagement and public management issues. The results revealed how public management links to sustainable development goals through critical phases such as foresight, strategy, institutionalization, and monitoring. It was concluded that focusing on public management and its integration with sustainable development is crucial for the effective functioning of government institutions, emphasizing proper planning, control, and execution, as well as sustainable maintenance of public services and efficient management of economic resources.

Keywords : Sustainable development; public management; efficiency; effectiveness; new public management; and community.
