Abstract

Socially responsible companies are those that have become incorporated in strategic planning and in a management model that seeks to improve stakeholders´ quality of life through good social, economic and environmental dimension practices. This article seeks to ascertain the perception that Quito Metropolitan District (QMD) citizens have regarding the concept, dimensions, benefits and purchasing power forged by corporate social responsibility. The research approach is mixed and exploratory. It has a sample of 380 people from the Itchimbia Parish. This sample revealed that, there is still ignorance concerning the triple dimension of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR); this is perceived as regulatory compliance; there are, however, people who are willing to pay a premium for the assets of socially responsible companies.
