Abstract

The objective of this research was to describe the factors that influence the academic production of teachers at a national university in Huánuco, Peru in 2019. Quantitative, descriptive and non-experimental research; a questionnaire (α = 0.98349) was administered to a sample of 18 sociology and social communication teachers. It was evidenced in the results that 88.99% of the teachers feel motivated to make scientific publications; 77.88% establish relationships with other colleagues; only 55.56% claimed to belong to an investigation group, and 83.33% claimed to have made at least one scientific publication. It is concluded that the factors that influence the academic production of the teachers were personal motivation and relationships with other teachers, while belonging to a research group did not influence the academic production of the teachers at the university in question.
