Abstract

YUCRA, Jennifer. Self-directed learning and research competences in students of methodology, Project and tesis development. ReHuSo [online]. 2024, vol.9, n.1, pp.72-83.  Epub June 04, 2024. ISSN 2550-6587.  https://doi.org/10.33936/rehuso.v9i1.5713.

The aim was to analyze the relationship between self-directed learning and research competencies among university students in Lima. A total of 358 young men (n=92) and women (n=293), aged 18 to 38 years, from two private institutions of higher education participated in the study. The research was non-experimental, cross-sectional and of correlational design. A self-directed learning assessment scale and a research competency self-assessment scale designed for the study were used. The findings reveal that self-directed learning and its dimensions have a direct relationship with inquiry, technological and methodological management, and communication of results in the sample investigated. It is concluded that the appropriation of the learning process by the student is relevant to demonstrate the development of research competences.

Keywords : Self-directed learning; research competences; students; research.
