CEDENO BARRETO, María Elisa and PAZMINO CAMPUZANO, Marcos. The importance of recreational games and recreational workshops to promote gender equity. ReHuSo [online]. 2019, vol.4, n.3, pp.114-122. Epub Dec 29, 2019. ISSN 2550-6587. https://doi.org/10.33936/rehuso.v4i3.2141.
Gender equity is a recurring theme in academic contexts. Every day, today’s society demands, mainly from educational institutions, that this kind of principle be upheld for the prevention of violence. The reality is that the teaching of gender equity is not easy when a child or adolescent is faced with all kinds of situations on a daily basis in their own family circles. Faced with this complex situation, there is an urgent need to find new ways of teaching gender equity, one of which is based on the development of recreational games and the holding of recreational workshops. In this context, the present study seeks to investigate the particularities and factors that may promote equity in basic education students, starting from the above points. The game has a powerful component that allows to generate spaces of reflection to identify those positive and negative practices in view of the equity that is sought. The gender perspective seeks above equality respect to achieve a level of harmonious coexistence. This paper analyzes some of these particularities and nuances in students in basic education and provides some methodological strategies, especially playful ones, that allow to generate a level of equal awareness towards all people, regardless of your sexual identity. Therefore, the focus of this research is to establish the importance and influence of recreational activities on the topic.
