Abstract

VEGA INTRIAGO, Jisson Oswaldo; BELLO DAVILA, Zoe; MEDINA GARCIA, Jeniffer  and  LEON, Alina Alfonso. EMOTIONAL COMPETENCIES ARE NECESSARY FOR THE SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE OF DOCTORS AND NURSES. AN ASSESSMENT OF THE EMPLOYERS, PROFESSIONALS AND STUDENTS OF MANABÍ IN ECUADOR. Revista San Gregorio [online]. 2019, vol.1, n.29, pp.16-23. ISSN 2528-7907.

Emotional competencies are recognized today as an essential component of high performance and a resource to meet the demands that professional work demands. With the objective of knowing the weight they have for the successful performance of health professionals, the present work was carried out taking as a reference the criteria of employers, professionals and students of health of the Technical University of Manabí (UTM). The groups studied coincided in highlighting the importance of emotional competences in the success of their work, these being more important in their performance than the techniques or cognitive, sociomoral and other mentioned. They also agree that these should be the ones that should be developed the most.

The results of this work mark a line of research between the existing gaps between academic training and the demands of the labor market, in terms of the development of emotional competencies.

Keywords : Emotional competencies; successful performance; doctors; nurses.
