Abstract

VILLEGAS PEREZ, Miguel. A. Interview with Paul Handal The Effects of Artificial Intelligence on the Legal Practice. Iuris Dictio [online]. 2023, n.31, pp.89-95. ISSN 2528-7834.  https://doi.org/10.18272/iu.i31.2960.

In this interview, Paul Handal a lawyer specialized in Legaltech, analyzes the effects of artificial intelligence on legal practice. From his experience in the design, development, and implementation of new ways of providing legal services that integrate human talent, processes, data, and technology, Paul discusses the possibilities of the application of artificial intelligence in the legal world. In addition, he analyzes how this technology offers great benefits, especially in terms of efficiency and precision, but also Paul examines its challenges. He also explains how artificial intelligence can process large amounts of information in a matter of seconds, which can save a lot of time and effort in legal practice. However, Paul also points out how the implementation of artificial intelligence in the legal world has its challenges. In particular, discussions about privacy, data security, and how artificial intelligence could affect legal decision-making. Finally, He identifies the reasons why artificial intelligence is a powerful tool that can be a great advantage for lawyers and the legal system in general, as long as it is implemented with caution and ethics.
