Abstract

ESPINOZA BAUTISTA, Josselyn Jessenia. Interview with Shelley Cavalieri.Property as a women’s rights and the health and immigration systems in the United States. Iuris Dictio [online]. 2018, n.22, pp.231-238. ISSN 2528-7834.  https://doi.org/10.18272/iu.v22i22.1301.

This interview with professor and researcher Shelley Cavalieri, winner of the Fullbright scholarship, was held in the city of Quito, on October 1st, 2018. In this discussion, we examine Professor Cavalieri's research work, which is an investigation that raises the property as defense mechanism and guarantee of women's rights. In addition, an analysis of the legal connection of her research work with Feminist Legal Theory studies is developed. Likewise, we also reflect on issues of legal relevance such as human trafficking and the decriminalization of sexual labor. Finally, this interview deals with some questions about the health and immigration system in the United States, since these were subjects of Professor Cavalieri teaching at West Virginia University.
