NASTACUAS CUICHAN, Maximo et al. Energy optimization in frequency variators of 16 and 67 blocks in Ecuador eastern. RCTU [online]. 2022, vol.9, n.1, pp.35-47. ISSN 1390-7697. https://doi.org/10.26423/rctu.v9i1.669.
Electrosubmersible pumping is a method of artificial lift, implemented in low-pressure wells, in which surface electrical power is supplied to the subsurface motor and pump. Power quality measurements record high harmonic distortion caused by reactive power, because surface equipment consumes energy and does not generate useful work or heat. This research includes the analysis of the operation of the variable frequency drives, known as VSDs, power and harmonic distortion of the transformer of wells A1, A2 and A3. A simulation of the electrosubmersible pumping system was carried out, where the electrical parameters required in the surface equipment were obtained. In addition, the electrical system was modeled to contrast the analysis carried out in this project. Through the economic analysis it was confirmed that by using the appropriate electrical parameters for the surface equipment a significant economic saving is obtained.
