Brucellosis is an infectious disease produced by B. mellitensis, being the most important cause of abortion in goats. On the province of Loja in southern Ecuador is the largest population of goats in the country, which also reports the presence of abortions, in breeds of specialized type isolated works have been carried out to determine the presence of this bacterium, however, from the niche of creole animals there is no health information available, the present study was carried out with the aim of monitoring if one of the causes of abortions in The Creole Chusca goat is B. mellitensis, epidemiological information was collected for three months registering 66.5% of abortions in the sampled animals, the diagnosis of B. mellitensis was made using the PCR polymerase chain reaction technique, amplifying a fragment of 731bp without recording amplification of the brucella fragment investigated.
