Abstract

REATEGUI-PALOMINO, Katya  and  LEAL-CARRASCO, Bernardo. Quantification of three POC pesticides in water by the HPLC-UV method. RCTU [online]. 2018, vol.5, n.2, pp.1-5. ISSN 1390-7697.  https://doi.org/10.26423/rctu.v5i2.334..

An HPLC-UV-visible method was validated for determination of pesticides Aldrin, 4,4´DDT and Dieldrin in water. For this purpose, a C18 column in reverse phase mode was used, a mobile phase consisting of an acetonitrile/water mix (v/v = 85:15) at an isocratic flow rate of 1 ml/min, an injection volume of 50 L, and a UV detection using two wavelengths (220 nm for Aldrin and Dieldrin, and 238 nm for 4,4´DDT). The validation of this method was carried out by measuring the accuracy, precision, linearity, linearity range, limit of detection (LOD), and limit of quantification (LOQ). This method exhibits good linearity over the range of 0,27 - 62 mg/Kg for Dieldrin, 0,14 - 42 mg/Kg for 4,4'-DDT and 0,34 - 81 mg/Kg for Aldrin for R2 greater than 0,996. The recovery percentage for two concentration values (2 and 20 mg/kg) was found in the 91 - 104% range for the three pesticide with a relative standard deviation ranging from 0,8 to 8%. The LOQ for the three pesticides was found to be 93, 95 and 135 ng/g for Dieldrin, Aldrin and 4,4'-DDT respectively. Keywords

Keywords : organochlorines Aldrin; Dieldrin; 4,4'-DDT, HPLC-UVvisible.
