Abstract
MARTIN, Medina,; MARJORIE, Naranjo, and JESUS, Rodríguez-Flores,. Design of a Model Reference Adaptive Controller Using the MIT Rule Applied to a Buck Converter. Rev Politéc. (Quito) [online]. 2023, vol.51, n.1, pp.19-28. ISSN 2477-8990. https://doi.org/10.33333/rp.vol51.n1.02.
Power electronic converters are present in a large number of modern electronic devices and are used in applications that increasingly demand greater energy efficiency. Buck converters have capacitive and inductive elements, and a switch that switches and changes the converter dynamics, these characteristics are of great interest from the point of view of automatic control. The present work aims to develop and implement a direct model reference adaptive controller (MRAC) to control a buck converter. The work begins with the mathematical analysis of the converter plant dynamics, then the methodology for the design of the MRAC controller is shown. The parameters of the controller parameters using the MIT rule. The performance of the controller is evaluated by numerical simulation and experimentation. The results show that the performance of the controller is successful in scenarios with changes in: the reference voltage, supply voltage and load resistance.
