Abstract
PENAHERRERA, María and REINOSO, Diego. Evaluation of OPS for PAPR Reduction in an OFDM System with Multipath Channel. Rev Politéc. (Quito) [online]. 2019, vol.44, n.2, pp.35-42. ISSN 2477-8990. https://doi.org/10.33333/rp.vol44n2.04.
OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) is a wireless communication technology that has advantages such as high spectral efficiency, high transmission rate, and robustness to multipath propagation. However, its main disadvantage is the high PAPR (Peak-to-Average Power Ratio). This article presents the evaluation of OPS (Orthogonal Pilot Sequence) for PAPR reduction in an OFDM system with multipath channel. For the evaluation, two types of frequency selective multipath channels, with and without line of sight, are considered. OPS is evaluated obtaining the BER (Bit Error Rate) vs Eb/No (energy per bit to noise power spectral density ratio) graph and the CCDF (Cumulative Complementary Distribution Function). The results show a reduction in the PAPR when using the OPS technique and an improvement in the BER.
