The (no) dropout is a case study with 9th grade students at the Madre Laura Educational Institution, Tierra Alta, Córdoba (Colombia), it aims to understand the (no) dropout, in adolescents close to graduating from the Secondary Educational System. Young people are in a vulnerable sociocultural situation in which psychosocial, economic, family and academic factors influence. A mixed qualitative and quantitative methodology was proposed, with a descriptive and analytical approach. It is important to be able to characterize and understand these adolescents who, although they may not continue studying, want to complete their schooling. The main findings allow us to take considerations, from the educational institution with the pedagogical model and from the teaching staff, with a more active participation, in addition to the family and the motivations of the students.
