Las tecnologías de la información y de las comunicaciones (TICs) y el surgimiento de nuevos medios en la web han trastocado las prácticas periodístico-informativas. En la actualidad, tanto los contenidos como las rutinas laborales de los reporteros están marcados por un nuevo escenario forjado a partir de la convergencia digital. Las diversas dimensiones de este escenario han afectado también la producción, distribución y consumo de información. El acceso a novedosas plataformas y herramientas tanto de difusión como de interacción han modificado los perfiles profesionales del periodista y a replantear sus competencias en el ejercicio profesional. En este contexto se realizó una investigación de carácter cualitativo y cuantitativo a partir de la elaboración de encuestas aplicadas a veinte periodistas que ejercen su profesión en medios radiales de la provincia de Manabí. Para ello se consideraron las siguientes competencias: comunicativa de contenidos, la producción de contenidos, lenguajes y narrativas multimedia, la implementación de tecnologías y redes, la creación de formatos informativos e interactivos acordes con las preferencias de la audiencia y la adecuación al nuevo ecosistema comunicativo.

The technologies of information and communications (ICT) and the emergence of new media on the web have disrupted periodistico- informativas practices. Currently, both the contents and the reporters labour routines are marked by a new scenario forged from digital convergence. The various dimensions of this scenario have also affected the production, distribution and consumption of information. Access to new platforms and tools of dissemination and interaction have changed the professional profiles of the journalist and to rethink their skills in professional practice. In this context performed a qualitative and quantitative research from the elaboration of surveys applied to twenty journalists exercising their profession in the province of Manabí radial media. For this purpose the following competencies were considered: communicative content, production of contents, languages and multimedia narratives, the implementation of technologies and networks, the creation of informative and interactive formats in line with the preferences of the audience and the adaptation to the new communication ecosystem.
