La voz es la principal herramienta en el ejercicio de la docencia, y entre esta población educadora un alto porcentaje de profesores presentan problemas de salud relacionados con la voz, estos resultados se derivan de componentes individuales como el mal uso de la voz, sobre esfuerzo vocal; y de componentes estructurales determinados por factores ambientales y condiciones del establecimiento educativo. Se presenta un estudio descriptivo de corte transversal, con el objetivo de valorar la percepción del desgaste de la voz de 49 docentes y relacionarlos con las actividades intra y extra laborales que realicen habitualmente. Se aplicó el cuestionario VHI-30, obteniendo una media del grado de incapacidad vocal leve, con una puntuación de 15,67, se emplearon técnicas aritméticas descriptivas e inferenciales para determinar valores de la significancia asintótica. Los resultados confirmaron la hipótesis nula para las variables en estudio; a pesar de que los valores de las medias no son iguales aritméticamente, estadísticamente tampoco existe una asociación significativa. Para la variable “molestias en la garganta durante la jornada laboral”, se determinó una asociación estadísticamente significativa, que podría deberse a la falta de formación de los docentes en el uso de la voz y su correcta modulación.

Voice is the main tool in teaching, and among there is a high percentage of teachers with health problems in this educational population related to voice, these results are derived from individual components such as the misuse of the voice, vocal effort; and structural components determined by environmental factors and conditions of the educational establishment. The objective of this descriptive type study was to assess the perception of voice fading in 49 teachers and relate them to the intra and extra work activities they usually carry out. The VHI-30 questionnaire was applied, obtaining the degree of mild voice disability, the score was 15.67; the statistical analysis was performed with SPSS® 25.0 software and, descriptive arithmetic and inferential statistical techniques were used to determine values ​​of asymptotic significance. In the results obtained, the null hypothesis for the variables was confirmed; that is, even though the values ​​are not equal arithmetically, statistically there is no significant association either. However, for the variable "discomfort in the throat during the working day", the results showed a statistically significant association, which could be due to the lack of training of teachers in the use of the voice and its correct modulation.
