The handling of words enriches the language. The investigation had the purpose of proposing a plan of verbal games for the strengthening of the vocabulary in the students of 2 years of the U.E Ricardo Palma, city of Lima. The quantitative methodology was used, of the projective type with an intentional sample, represented by 120 students and 4 teachers. The instruments applied were two, one directed to teachers, of 19 items, under the Likert scale. It was validated the content by experts' judgment, the PEABODY PPVT-III Receptive Vocabulary Test, under the dichotomic scale, with a total of 10 images. Where it was analyzed the existence of a low level of receptive vocabulary in the students, in addition the students do not understand what they hear and read during the pedagogical activities, likewise the teachers sometimes plan games, which reflects that they do not promote the acquisition and strengthening of the vocabulary. The results show the need to propose a plan of verbal games for the promotion and improvement of lexical conditions that allow students to express themselves through enriched and fluent language.
