In 2019, the World Health Organization declared Burnout Syndrome as an occupational disease because it is a disorder that affects, at an emotional and psychological level, a large part of workers with manifestations of high levels of stress and anxiety. Health personnel, due to the accumulation of demands to which they are exposed, such as hours and / or rotating shifts, workload, the environment in which they develop and contact with diseases, emotional and personal disorders of patients, develop stress at levels that are harmful to health, so the objective of this study was to determine the presence of Burnout Syndrome in one of the Basic Hospitals in the province of Manabí. The study is cross-sectional, descriptive and observational; Sociodemographic variables were determined and the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) tool was applied in a population composed of 40 professionals from the emergency, outpatient, and administrative areas, obtaining as a result the confirmation of the presence of the Burnout syndrome in a low percentage (2.5%) that makes it controllable to apply immediate intervention measures.
