Siempre que se aborda el tema de la homosexualidad aparecen categorías como: sexualidad, orientación sexual, identidad sexual, identidad de género, minorías, comunidades GLBTI, discriminación, homofobia, leyes, políticas y derechos sexuales, entre otras, algunas de las cuales serán abordadas en este estudio, aunque no es la intención del mismo volver a precisarlos, sino analizar y relacionar la sexualidad y con ella la homosexualidad, con las diferentes teorías acerca de la cultura; específicamente, de los viejos significados de cultura, vista desde los principales referentes teóricos que han definido en su época el término de cultura.

Whenever the issue of homosexuality is addressed, there are categories such as: sexuality, sexual orientation, sexual identity, gender identity, minorities, GLBTI communities, discrimination, homophobia, laws, policies and sexual rights, among others, some of which will be addressed in this study, although it is not the intention of the same one to return to precise them, but to analyze and to relate the sexuality and with her the homosexuality, with the different theories about the culture; specifically, of the old meanings of culture, seen from the main theoretical referents that have defined the term culture in their time.
